The artist drew inspiration whilst reminiscing about a trip to Spain where she spent hours strolling through the colorful Spanish fruit markets.
The artist depicts nature without excessive naturalism through the use of stylized forms. She placed the colorful flowers, leaves and fruit in series which were carefully created to be rhythmic and balanced, giving a sense of order and harmony to the wallpaper design. This pattern is sprawling and highly decorative, with immense detail and fantastic use of color.

Once the colour palette is chosen, Catherine studies the flowers, foliage and animals she finds in her everyday life; observing new blooms in her garden, at the beach, at the side of the road or at the river. Catherine draws these observations in a sketch book she constantly carries with her.
