The story began back in 2008 when Richard, Bryce and Muffin, a Spanish Water Dog, decided to join forces. Bryce had just returned from a four-year stint overseas, Muffin by his side, with aspirations of becoming a freelance designer. At the same time, Richard found himself in a sales job that provided little satisfaction. Without a detailed plan or much consideration, they plunged into the world of business. Their first venture, named ‘The Design Garage’, started with a modest combined startup capital of $250.

The plan was simple: Bryce, with his knowledge of graphic design, would assist businesses and individuals with all their artistic needs, and Richard would handle the boring stuff: numbers, bills, and all the other things Bryce couldn’t (or didn’t want to) do.

Not long after, they encountered their first hurdle: rent.

They quickly recognized that their best option was to return to their parents’ home – so they packed their bags, and soon after, they were knocking on mom and dad’s door.
